History and sound

When you see this band live you would think that they have been together for years.  They are brilliantly in tune with one another and play truly from the heart.

In actual fact, they started out as an instrumental acoustic latin jazz trio- hence the name.  But soon added piano, then vocals, then drums and turned into the now magical blues, jazz, swing band that you’ll gladly experience.  The two most recent additions of trumpet and sax have rounded it all of and create an even more magical ambient sound.

What is great about El Camino is that they are so flexible with their set up and sound.  They play a real eclectic mix of new and old songs but some how it all gels really well together.  When asked what kind of music they now produce it is really hard to pin it down to one genre- you just need to see them live though and you’ll fall in love with them like everyone else does!

The brilliant thing is you are guaranteed to catch them (for free!) at least once a month, when they play at their regular residency of The Abbot Cook, in Reading.
